School of Sew Sewing Retreat
What’s better than a weekend of sewing? WELL… How about a weekend of sewing in the home of the Great British Sewing Bee set in the wonderful Yorkshire village of Farsley.
If like us, you absolutely love sewing, learning new things and being surrounded by like minded fellow crafters why not come along and join us.
There will be 2 full days of sewing in our amazing Sewing Studio, you will have time to sit and sew with other guests as well as time to enjoy the surroundings by yourself should you choose.
With hands on experience and guidance from our great team, you can create and proudly take home your sewing creations, after enjoying a weekend of fun and learning.
Accommodation is not included in the retreat however there is a Premiere Inn or Corn Mill Hotel just 10minutes drive away.
Sewing Retreats
Sewing Retreats are available on selected weekends and are subject to availability.
Whether you are an absolute beginner wanting to create your first item of clothing, a more experienced sewer wanting to expand your skills and knowledge or just want to come and socially sew with a group of others (maximum 6) then this retreat is for you.
Our sewing retreat is suitable for all levels of experience. There is tuition on hand for beginners and intermediate sewists who have perhaps done some small sewing projects or made simple garments in the past.
Price £360 (Friday 1pm until Sunday 4pm).
Upon arrival at School of Sew on the Friday at 1.00pm you’ll be welcomed by The School of Sew Team in their beautiful sewing studio and offered refreshments.
You’ll be shown around the sewing studio, allowing you time to familiarise yourself with the equipment and we will give you some time to browse our inhouse fabric store Mill Creations. where you can choose fabrics for the days ahead.
Your 2 full days of sewing then starts at 9.30am on the Saturday

At the end of the day
At the end of your experience, not only will you be taking home your gorgeous handmade creations but hopefully you will have learnt some new skills and made some new friendships along the way.
All that remains is to wear your finished garments with pride.

Thankyou so much for the weekend retreat – it is a real luxury to have a block of time to concentrate on one thing – sewing. As a guinea pig I did not feel as if this was a trial, your organisational skills meant it was very smooth and the style of learning was perfect for me – I like to try things out with guidance and that is exactly how it felt. I am very impressed with how Alison took all of us through our second makes – five different patterns of different complexity with all our differing skill levels. I have learnt so much, refreshed some old knowledge and rejuvenated my delight in making garments. The two garments are the most professional garments I have made.
Often when you go on courses you are asked what could we improve on our delivery – and for me the answer is nothing – high quality organisation, delivery, materials, equipment and tuition topped off with lovely food and excellent company. Thank you.
